I am constantly reflecting on my life. Am I in the right spot at the right time? Have I taken a risk? Can I be confident in my decisions? And it's always come down to figuring out how the answer to all of those questions can be yes. Sometimes it isn't.
I'm friggin' terrified when it's "no". I don't know what to do. I try to rationalize that I am in the right spot. When I get like this it reminds me of a TED talk by Simon Sinek titled "Start With Why." He talks about how great companies inspire leadership and how it doesn't matter what you do or how you do it. It matters why you do it. Here's the talk:
Simon Sinek also wrote a book. It's on my GoodReads list. I take this talk personally. Yes, it absolutely applies to my two companies, but it also effects me as a human being. As someone who chooses to do something. And it doesn't matter what I'm doing or how I'm doing it. But it matters why I'm doing it.
So I leave you this sunny Thursday morning with this thought: Do you know why you're doing what you're doing?
